Sea Horse 2?

DURING the 1960s, a modified Ford County, known as ‘Sea Horse’, became the first tractor able to travel on water as well as on land.

Sea Horse 2?

It made history when it crossed the English Channel, from France to England, under its own power.

Caught on camera recently at Meon Springs in Hampshire, this John Deere tractor complete with power-driven propellor is apparently being prepared for a similar feat. We understand that to add buoyancy for the trip, in addition to the specially sealed cab, all the tyres and the radiator will be filled with helium!

The attempt is due to be made on the first Wednesday in April. Anyone wishing to become involved in this unique event should contact John Rutter on 01730 263352.

John Rutter,
Petersfield, Hants.
