High hopes for new attraction
8 May 2012
HAVING just returned from the Eastern Counties Vintage Tractor & Heritage Spectacular (March 31/April 1) event, I would like to say how much I enjoyed the show.
Good fun!
8 May 2012.
I WAS pleased to see your two page brochures on the Cole Ditching Blade. My dad and I used to borrow my grandad’s ditching blade in the 1970s, we used to take it in two pieces in the cattle trailer.
Show us your pride
10 April 2012.
SAM Butler is so proud of the Internationals he works with he thought we should show them in the magazine, and with pictures like these taken on a perfect day who are we to argue.
Spreading the load
10 April 2012.
YET another memory jog from Alec’s cuttings about the Massey-Harris dung spreader (Tractor issue 101).
A Major birthday celebration
13 March 2012.
IT WAS my dad’s (Robert Jackson) 65th birthday at the end of February and to help celebrate we made a Fordson Major birthday cake for him, as he’s an avid tractor collector.
More tales of kale
13 March 2012.
I HAVE read with great interest your article on kale in the February edition of Tractor magazine. It took me back to the mid-1960s when my father started to grow marrow stem kale as an extra feed for his 16-cow dairy herd.
Rare row crop Massey-Harris
14 February 2012.
I READ with interest your reference to the Massey-Harris Model 82 tractors in Tractor magazine (Tractor Talk issue 99). The rare model is the Model 82 Row Crop.
More baler memories
14 February 2012.
Jones Balers decided to have a go at building a combine harvester at one time. Only three were built I think, no doubt the boys in Wales can put me right on this. I suppose they were prototypes. For some reason, which I can’t now recall, we bought one of these machines. It was called a Jones Cruiser.
Rust – what rust?
10 January 2012.
STEVE White’s 1940 Case D was spotted by Donald Bowler at the Bedfordshire Steam & Country Fayre last September.
The carpet engineer!
10 January 2012.
“I CAME in from my workshop one cold December night for my supper after stripping down a Ferguson TED-20 engine,” writes Ben Phillips. “While I tucked into the feast my mother had prepared for me she asked if I could build a tractor up for her that evening on the lounge carpet!
