Record turn out for National

Over 700 tractors travelled 30-odd miles through the beautiful Pembrokeshire countryside on Easter Sunday for the National Vintage Tractor Road Run 2011. A full report of the event appears in the June issue of Tractor, but with so many tractors on show it was impossible to show them all in the magazine so here are some more for you to you enjoy in our online gallery. Property and business consultants Brown & Co is launching a machinery auction service in Poland where it has been offering a full range of agricultural, residential and commercial services since 1997.
Cyclists race vintage tractors in £30K Challenge

A team of cyclists backed by Hörmann (UK) Limited are racing vintage tractors supported by Stephen Sanderson Transport from one end of the country to the other to raise £30,000 for three cancer charities.
Good trade at Shrewsbury

The best entry for two years met with a good trade at auctioneers Halls’ successful plant and agricultural machinery collective sale at Shrewsbury Auction Centre on Friday March 26.
Weird or wonderful

A new TV series is on a nationwide hunt for antiques and collectibles, from larger objects like airplanes, tractors, classic cars to the domestic items such as antique and retro furniture, lighting, china, artwork, fixtures and fittings and even things you may consider to be ‘junk’!
Salvage and antiques experts for the series are looking to pay cash from their own pocket for the right items, and they’ll be travelling all over the country to find it. So if you or anyone you know is sitting on a treasure trove you think they might be interested in, whatever it might be, please get in touch.

The Ferguson Club celebrates 25 years at its annual member’s weekend and AGM at The Beamish Museum, County Durham on April 16-17.
Mysterious mannequin

Auctioneers at Brown & Co have been demonstrating the breadth of their ability at sales recently. While his counterparts in Norfolk sold £3.5 million of residential property, Ben Wills - from the firm’s office in Melton Mowbray - sold a female Indian mannequin among farm equipment at an auction near Stamford.
Vapormatic launches new Perkins short motors

Following the continued demand for Vapormatic’s three cylinder Perkins and Ford short motors, Vapormatic has expanded the range and now launched two new four cylinder short motors suitable for Perkins A4.246 and A4.248 engines.
