Tractor Fest - a sight to behold

More than 500 tractors are being geared up to feature at the Newby Hall Tractor Fest in June – one of the biggest events of its type in the country.

Land-based and Agricultural students from Wiltshire College Lackham proved they are a force to be reckoned with after successfully pulling a tractor more than 600 metres to raise money for charity.
New Bobcats at Plantworx

At the Plantworx 2013 Exhibition at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire in the UK from 14-16 May 2013, Bobcat will be showing the new E25 compact excavator, the new 500 platform compact loader range and the new TL470HF telescopic handler for the first time at the show.
New Parts and Service outlet for Deutz-Fahr

Same Deutz-Fahr has a new Parts and Service outlet for North East Cumbria, Western Borders and the Eastern Dumfries and Galloway region. Michael Holliday Agricultural Engineers will provide Deutz-Fahr customers with parts and service for their tractors, combines and telescopic loaders.
Certainly not short on experience, Mr Holliday has been maintaining tractors for over 26 years, with more than a few of them working on Same Deutz-Fahr tractors. For the last eight years he has been running his own repair and service business from his Moor Cottage premises at Longtown, Cumbria.

Having used a Kubota M8540 tractor for several years, Simon Parker of Instone Court in Herefordshire was keen to try out its narrow counterpart, the M8540N, for orchard and hops row work.
The M8540N is fully manufactured in house by Kubota, and combines the power and functionality of the M8540 but incorporates a narrow, compact body – making it ideal for vineyard, row and orchard work. With the family-run farm playing host to 55 acres of cider fruit, 10 acres of other apples and 40 acres of hops, Mr Parker wanted to invest in a slimmer tractor that he could easily manoeuvre within tighter spaces.
New deputy show manager at Newark

Jayne Olney has been appointed as deputy show manager by the Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society (NNAS). Jayne will be providing full support to show manager Mary Hopkins and takes up her role at a particularly busy period in the society’s calendar as the Nottinghamshire County Show fast approaches (May 11-12).

A new security compound, covering a third of an acre, has been created at Shrewsbury Auction Centre to improve the storage of plant, farm machinery and vehicles. The compound is designed to improve security and assist people buying and selling at the successful bi-monthly collective plant farm machinery auctions held by auctioneers Halls.
Farmer clocks off after 45 years service

A farmer from The Co-operative’s farming business in Aberdeenshire has parked up his tractor for the very last time to retire after 45 years working the land near Inverurie.
