Auctioneers Halls are assembling a strong vintage section to their next collective auction of agricultural implements and machinery at Stone, near Kidderminster on Friday, October 26. Entries already consigned to the auction include 32 vintage tractors, spanning from the 1930s to the ‘70s and a wide range of vintage farm implements and effects, including horse drawn implements.

With more than a month to go to the 2012 Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show (November 10-11) entries have already broken last year’s record of exhibitors. The organisers of the show have received more than 980 entries and anticipate reaching the 1000 mark as an added celebration in the event’s 10th anniversary year.

October 14 is Land Rover Day at the Rural Life Centre, Surrey's museum of country life, at Tilford on Sunday, October 14. There are almost 100 vehicles already booked in for the event; among them will be the pre-production No. 11 Land Rover from 1945, a host of series vehicles including I, II, IIa and III, 90, Defenders, Discovery, Freelanders, Range Rover and at least one series 101.
Kubota commitment to minding the Gap Group

Kubota Construction has announced an order for 140 mini-excavators by GAP Group, the UK’s largest independent plant and tool hire company. The deal marks the first major win since the appointment of Kubota Construction’s first dedicated Key Account Manager.
GAP has been a regular user of Kubota Construction for many years, and today estimates that Kubota accounts for around 95% of its fleet of mini-excavators, situated at 59 depots across the UK.
The 2012 batch demonstrates the breadth of Kubota Construction’s range, as its composition shows a marked shift from previous orders by GAP. Of the 140 machines being delivered, 30 are 6-tonne models and 60 are 8-tonne models.

There will be a Ploughing Festival at Prickwillow on October 6/7 at Green Farm Main Street, Prickwillow and the adjacent Prickwillow Engine Museum. The ploughing Competition on the Sunday has classes for trailed, mounted, junior, horticulture and heavy horse and there will be ‘Ploughing for Fun’ Saturday and Sunday with horses and tractors. Other attractions will include a static display of commercial and domestic vehicles, traction engines, stationary engines, arts and crafts, trade stands, traditional crafts and bygones.
