Collective cheer

Auctioneers Halls reported one of their most successful collective auctions of plant and agricultural machinery at Shrewsbury Auction Centre on February 3.
The day’s top price of £21,600 went to a 2005 JCB telescopic loader. Other leading prices were: £17,000 for a 2005 Valmet A95 tractor, £11,200 for a 1999 Massey Ferguson 8240 tractor, £10,000 for a 2009 Marshall 12 tonne rear discharge spreader, £9600 for a Steyr 1994 with loader and £7700 for a Lewis Badger compact digger/tractor.
Star buy of the trailer section was a Richard Weston 16 tonne root crop trailer, which sold for £7000. Other leading prices were £5800 for an A W 14 tonne silage trailer, £4500 and £3700 for Richard Weston 14 tonne trailers, £3100 for a Chieftain 14 tonne dump trailer, £2700 for a Marshall eight tonne silage trailer, £2650 for a Wheatley eight tonne grain trailer, £2300 for a Griffiths eight tonne trailer and Ifor Williams livestock trailers sold to a high of £1800.
