It is now 35 years since New Holland Agriculture revolutionised the way farmers harvested with the introduction of their Twin Rotor technology for combines.

Combining capacity and quality

Since its introduction in 1975 the concept is now universally recognised as having changed the face of harvesting. The TR70 was the very first combine to use groundbreaking rotary technology in the threshing and separation process.

This revolutionary concept uses two longitudinally mounted rotors which give a high level of grain-on-grain threshing thus handling grain more gently than other systems. The rotors spread the crop over two concave surfaces to create an enormous active working area and utilize centrifugal force for more efficient separation to increase harvesting speed and capacity. Furthermore, the gentle threshing and separation process, courtesy of the unique rasp bars and separation elements, resulted in excellent grain and straw quality and reduced crop damage and losses.

Three decades on and more than 35,000 combines later, the CR’s advanced solution is used in more than 30 countries across the world.

Highest capacity

New Holland’s flagship CR9090 Twin Rotor model is the world’s highest capacity combine, offering owners an unrivalled productivity and efficiency advantage, say the manufacturers. The 35 foot Varifeed header, the market-leading 591 hp/435 kW- turbo compound engine, the largest cleaning area and the biggest grain tank on the market all combine to make the CR9090 the perfect choice for harvesting professionals. The CR9090 confirmed its sought after title in 2008, as it stormed its way into the Guinness Book of World Records, harvesting an impressive 551.6 tonnes of wheat in a mere eight hours - a record which still stands today.
