Event cancelled
By: Tony Hoyland
The Ayrshire Vintage Tractor & Machinery Club has joined the ranks of the events which have sadly been cancelled this year. The rally was set to be a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the event on July 22.
In a statement a spokesperson for the organisers said: “In one of the most difficult decisions that Ayrshire Vintage Tractor & Machinery Club has ever made, after weeks of unprecedented rainfall, the decision has been taken to cancel the Club’s 30th Annual Vintage Rally. Sadly this has become familiar news for many other events caught in the trap of so much inclement weather. Like our own, none of these decisions were taken lightly or without much soul searching and debate. We are determined to make the 2013 Rally bigger and better!
“Those who paid their entry fees for exhibits will receive their commemorative 30th Year Plaque. Trade Stands, Autojumbles and Craft Stalls – Returning Entry Fees is a mammoth task. If any would consent to having their fees held over by AVTMC for next year’s Rally please let us know. If however, you require the Fees returned, please be in touch with Margaret Howie, Rally Secretary Tel 01292 287297 email - margaret.avtmc1@btinternet.com”
