Ferguson Committee raises £3223
By: Tony Hoyland
The Harry Ferguson Celebration Committee has donated a cheque for £3223 to the Parkinson’s Society – their chosen charity for 2011.
The funds were raised from their Homestead event at Growell Dromore, Eire last August when spectators and enthusiasts from all over Ireland and even some visitors from New Zealand flocked to the event.
The theme was commemorating 75 years of the Ferguson Brown tractor and there were a few on display including a perfect example, No 15, supplied by owner Mr Matt Foreman from Hillsborough.
New activities were introduced this time including a tractor pull organised by the local young farmers club, a ploughing demonstration at the lower end of the field and operating skills on a mini track machine. Radio controlled tractor trailer driving and ride on tractor trailer driving were also available.
