In service with Massey Ferguson
By: Web Editor
ENTHUSIASTS of Massey Ferguson tractors or anyone who worked for the company will be particularly keen to read an autobiography by David Walker, who worked in the company’s service department in the 1960s, 70s and 80s.
Inside Massey Ferguson – A Story of Service begins as David joins the company as a technical author. He became heavily involved in all aspects of supporting the company’s products and his story makes fascinating and sometimes humorous reading, especially when recounting his problem solving and troubleshooting days with new products, such as the MF 1200, MF 1080 and MF 500 Series tractors of the 1970s.
During the later stages of his career, David became service manager for northern Europe, bringing him in contact with a completely different set of dealers and products including a range of small combines produced for MF by Sampo of Finland.
Within the book are 16 pages of mainly colour archive photographs.
Inside Massey Ferguson – A Story of Service by David Walker is published by Farm Power Publishing in softback, priced £13.95.
