Kubota to the rescue
By: Tony Hoyland
From clearing snow outside of Lincoln Cathedral to helping to find a secret Santa, Kubota machinery has been coming to the rescue around the UK.
The day before snow hit Colne in Lancashire, retailer Boundary Mills took delivery of a Kubota M9540 agricultural tractor from Gibsons Garden Machinery to help deal with winter weather. Now fitted with a snow blade and salt spreader, it has been used to help keep the car park open for customers.
Meanwhile in Lincoln, heavy snowfall has caused widespread disruption across the region, forcing both schools and roads to close as well as the cancellation of the famous Christmas Market. As a result, Chandlers (Farm Equipment) Ltd has been hiring out equipment, including a Kubota B3030 compact tractor, to help clear the city’s streets including those around the Cathedral.
More unusually is the news that a Kubota RTV900 all-terrain utility vehicle has been used by one local authority to try and track down the big man himself – Santa Claus. ITV Wales interviewed two rangers riding in an RTV900 about the 'Woodland Santa', who for the second year, has been leaving Christmas presents anonymously in the Millennium Coastal Park!
