Minister gives RABI his vote
By: Tony Hoyland
The RABI initiative to raise funds with its ‘Win a tractor for a £1’ campaign received the approval of Jim Paice, Minister of State for Agriculture and Food (pictured), when the 'Tractors Ancient & Modern' tractor was recently displayed on the New Holland Agriculture stand.
From leading agricultural auctions, to tractor shows and other key events such as county shows and even Cereals, the tractor has appeared to mark RABI's (Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution) 150th anniversary and raise valuable funds for the charity.
'Tractors Ancient & Modern' are continuing to take the 'Win a Tractor for a £1' to shows and events the length and breadth of the country over the summer months. The fully restored 1965 classic Ford 2000 tractor kindly donated by farmer, Peter Godwin continues to attract large crowds wherever it goes.
The winning ticket will be drawn by Lord Plumb at the Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show at Newark Showground on Sunday 14 November 2010.
For those not able to purchase raffle tickets at an event, please contact either Treasurer, Andrew Hunt, 01366 388907 or 07802 969822, or Chairman, Colin Holwell on 01780 751291.
