SOUTERS Sports has expanded its equipment fleet with the purchase of four new Deutz Fahr Agrofarm 430GS tractors.

Specialist fleet expands

The company has worked at high profile venues such as Glasgow Rangers FC, Celtic FC, De Vere, Carden Park Golf Resort, Carlisle Racecourse, Stoke City FC and Bolton Wanderers FC. The tractors were supplied by local supplier J&S Lewis Limited based in Leigh, Lancashire due to the increasing demand of specialist equipment and the continued growth of Souters Sports.

Stewart Aird, Managing Director and Robert Heath, Contracts Manager at Souters Sports decided that they needed to search the market for some more tractors to add to their existing fleet.

Key features demanded by Stewart Aird, Managing Director, and Robert Heath, Contracts Manager, were big tractor outputs of over 100hp combined with the weight and dimensions of a smaller tractor. "We work on many turf surfaces," said Robert. "The new tractor had to be capable of high work-rates with a minimal risk of compaction and marking. Its power to weight ratio is perfect for our needs, and is enhanced by fitting wide turf tyres (800mm wide) with low ground pressure."

Other important features highlighted by Robert were the high torque engine at low engine revs, high lift capacity, reliability, high specification and service back-up from J&S Lewis.

For the fanatical tractor enthusiasts among you, you will note these tractors are sprayed in Same RED rather than the traditional Deutz Fahr green. This was a commercial decision taken to have them supplied in this colour to keep the new fleet of tractors the same colour as the existing fleet.

Souters Sports now boast eight tractors supplied by J&S Lewis in the last three years which adds to the overall fleet of 30 tractors owned by Souters Sports Limited. For further information visit www.souterssports.co.uk
