Vintage model
By: Web Editor
RE the combine featured on the centre pages of Tractor, September 2011. The small combine harvester is a Massey-Harris 735, the yellow wheels show it is M-H.
The later models were badged Massey Ferguson 735 with grey wheels after M-H took over (Ferguson). The MF 735 was also available as a tanker. The one we used for a number of years was an MF 735 bagger model with a grain cleaner which put the weed seeds etc. in to a separate bag, usually a used fertiliser sack. The grain went into 1cwt hessian bags; a very clean sample of grain was produced by the bagger version of the MF 735.
It was provided by an Austin BMC 1500cc petrol paraffin engine. This combine is still working at vintage harvesting days in Dumfriesshire with a new owner.
